Instagram's Update

Since Instagram launched back in 2010, there have been few changes to the app. With the launch of version 6.0, comes 10 new features to help the platform compete with other competitors such as VSCO Cam. So expect a whole new array of ways to view other peoples weird filtered worlds coming to your feed.

Dressed to Impress?

The biggest social stories last week revolved around some very different dresses worn by Rihanna and Katie Price. First off Rihanna attended an awards ceremony in a barely-there dress, leaving very little to the imagination. ‘A-who-wore-it-best’ competition then sprung up in a surprising contest between Rihanna and Family Guy’s Peter Griffin both wearing that dress. Unsurprisingly Peter won, but not without Rihanna displaying the image as her profile picture on Twitter. Then, there was Katie Price's outfit...there are no words. Be warned it’s a #Nofilter.

iOS 8 Makes Itself Known

Last Monday at the WWDC conference, Apple announced the changes to their iOS and OSX software for the coming year. The biggest news featured HealthKit, a new platform that will sync into your daily routine to find out how healthy you really are. From your sleep patterns to heart rate, it will monitor all your vital signs and will even contact your doctor if something seems a bit dodgy. Other new features included iMessage which will become a bit more user friendly to compete with other services like Whatsapp. New iMessage features include sending selfies in the style of Snapchat and a do not disturb option for group chat notifications.

YouTube supports LGBT athletic community

YouTube’s new LGBT campaign focuses on gay rights and creating an equal playing field whatever your sexuality or orientation in the world of sports. The #ProudToPlay #ProudToPlay campaign features prominent sports personalities such as Tom Daley, Jason Collins and Robbie Rogers having open conversations about their sexuality. #ProudToPlay follows on from last years #ProudToLove campaign and hopes to spread the love whoever you love. The New Face of LinkedIn revealed

LinkedIn, the latest platform to revamp its look, revealed its new layout last week. The new profile, for premium users only, brings a more colourful and graphic look to the platform. This new look however is similar to other social platforms' latest changes, so now LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook all are starting to look one and the same.
