There’s a new bird in town this Christmas, and his name is Monty. When it comes to creating the perfect Christmas ad, John Lewis are a jingle bell ahead of the competition. The retail giant caused a social media stir yesterday when they debuted their latest Christmas ad online, featuring a little boy called Sam, his penguin friends Monty and Mabel, and the soft, sultry tones of Tom Odell covering John Lennon’s Real Love. But will this year’s advert eclipse 2013’s tale of the Bear and the Hare? With official Monty teddies retailing at up to £95 each, John Lewis are certainly hoping so.

WhatsApp with being ignored?

WhatsApp users on Android and iOS devices will now be able to see if their messages have been read thanks to two brazen blue ticks displayed next to the message. But hold on a minute, didn’t the grey double tick show this anyway? You exclaim in disbelief. Well, nope. Neglectful WhatsApp users of the world, you have been warned. Read with caution.
